It's that time of year when Christmas is nearly upon us and yet once the festivities have finished we turn our attention to what we want to achieve in the upcoming new year.

Some of you may be thinking about where you want to visit in 2018 and what adventures you'd like to have. Here at The Walking and Climbing Company we have many trips planned over the next year and we'd like to tell you about three of them, all very different.

If you're looking to do a climb, explore the new and relatively undiscovered country of Bhutan or are looking for an escape from the stresses of daily life and seek to spend time meditating, then read on ....

Mera Peak

This trip is a great introduction to mountaineering. The trip allows you to acclimatise to high altitude and at 6,476 is the highest trekking peak. On a clear day you'll be able to see Everest.

Bhutan - Land of the Dragon ...

is situated on the ancient silk road between Tibet, the India subcontinent and Southeast Asia.

This Spring we will be running a trek to Dagala Thousand Lakes. The trek is moderate and a great opportunity to see stunning views of the entire Himalayan mountain range.

Monastery Trek with Meditation

This is an opportunity to spend time visiting and meditating in monasteries that were established over 1,000 years ago. It is a very special trip and an enlightening experience to spend time with the Monks and Nuns who have meditated most of their lives. The trek is done in warm weather and an opportunity to step back from our busy lives.
You can combine this trek with the Mera Peak climb if you wish.
