Day 4 & 5: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

We either spend the day acclimatising by hiking to Thame or visiting Khunde. Namche Bazzar is the main centre of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery and a colourful market each Friday evening and Saturday.

Day 6: Debuche

After breakfast in Namche, we start our trek towards Deboche enjoying superb views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. Our trek is overlooking magnificent views of the great Himalaya. Along the way you can spot wild life like pheasant, musk deer, or a herd of Himalayan Thar. The path eventually reaches Sansa which is the major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp, then through the Dudh Kosi gorge to Tengboche Monastery on one of the most beautiful valley walks on Earth. The monastery is the home of the Rimpoche of Tengboche. After our visit, descend to our lodge in Debuche.

Day 7: Dingboche (4,360 m)

From here onwards the walk is fairly moderate as we enter the Imja Valley. The valley ahead will begin to open up as we approach the confluence of the Lobuche River, we descend into the river and begin the last and steepest climb of the day up to Dingboche On arrival in Dingboche, we enjoy the beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals.

Day 8: Dingboche (4,360 m)

We spend our second day of acclimatization at Dingboche. A refreshing breakfast while admiring Ama Dablam (6856m/ 22493 ft) to the south is really fantastic. To better appreciate Mt Ama Dablam, Mt Lhotse and numerous other peaks visible from Dingboche, we climb the ridge to the north behind the village. This will be an ideal acclimatizing excursion.

Day 9: Pokalde Base Camp (4,900m)

Today the climbing trail at first brings us at Kongma La Pass from where we can enjoy the views of the wide basin dotted with frozen lakes. The majestic view of Pokalde Peak from the high pass is unavoidable. The forthcoming climbing trail also rewards us with views of Cholatse, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam and several other peaks in the Khumbu region.

Day 10: Pokalde High Camp (5,400m)

We’ll head on to the High camp from where we start our climb. Firstly the path leads up beyond base camp for several hundred meters before striking off left up the steep hillside. Initially sandy, the path soon turns to grass before becoming boulder strewn. As you climb the hill, you will see that the slope narrows and the path enter a steep rock channel nearby where we’ll overnight in tents.

Day 11: Summit Pokalde – Khongmala Pass – Lobuche (4,9500m)

The climbing trail ultimately reaches to the narrow rocky summit, Pokalde Peak. Upon summiting Pokalde Peak, we can observe the most breathtaking and panoramic views of the world’s highest mountains which include the views of Mt Makalu, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and a number of other giant peaks in the Khumbu region.

Day 12: Lobuche Base Camp – short day (5364 m)

After walking some distance on relatively flatter plane, the path to the Lobuche Base Camp gets steeper and rocky. We move forward along the Lobuche Glacier while enjoying the great views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Pokalde, Thamserku, Kantega,

Day 13: Lobuche High Camp (5,400m)

Day 14: Summit Lobuche – Pheriche (6119m)

Today is our day for the summit. We wake up very early at around 2 am, eat breakfast and start early for the summit. Lobuche East offers more fabulous views of the mountains than other trekking peaks. Once upon the Lobuche summit, you would enjoy magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Pumori, and many more. There’s time at the summit for taking pictures, before returning to High Camp again.

Day 15: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

The trail descends steeply downward so we need to walk slowly over the rocky terrain. After crossing the bridges over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries the trail becomes more level and natural. By today we start to get warmed up by the light breeze and warmer mountain air.

Day 16: Rest day

Today the guides will carry out the last minute checking of the gears for the climb, and then arrange if any equipment becomes necessary to rent.

Day 17: Lukla (2,800m)

The trail descends to Lukla for the night.

Day 18: Chutenga (4340m)

Today, our trail leads eastwards. The path from here is less frequented than the other main trails from Lukla and follows through a number of hamlets and wood yards until we reach a thick forest of silver fir, birch, pines and rhododendron trees and bushes on the hillside below Nau Lekh also known as Kalo Himal Ridge, here there are many paths leading away from the main trail. There are many small streams through this area referred to as Chutanga which is a summer pasture.

Day 19: Thuli Kharka (4,450m)

We continue our trek the next day from Chutanga, the adventure begins with a steep climb to cross the Kalo Himal Ridge in the Nau Lekh range which separates the Khumbu from the Hinku Valley. A steep uphill climb brings us to a cairned notch in the ridge with a collection of Buddhist prayer flags at 4,450m. This small pass is called the Zatrwa Og, from here the path traverses across a boulder slope, round a corner and climbs once again to the Zatrwa-La at 4,600 m.

Day 20: Kote (4,600 m)

Following breakfast we follow a delightful descending trail across three ridges, before dropping steeply down to the Hinku River and a final uphill to Kote through lush rhododendron forests on the west side of the Hinku Valley . Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal and on our journey we get to admire beautiful hills dotted with rhododendrons. Overnight in Kote.

Day 21: Thakna (4350m)

We trek along the ridge of the Hinku Khola in the shadow of Mera Peak. We have lunch at Gondishung, the summer herders' settlement. Beyond Gondishung, we pass the 200 year-old Lungsumgba Gompa where Mera Peak is scripted in rock along with its route to Mera. A short walk takes us to Thaknak, a summer grazing area with primitive lodges and shops. Overnight in Thaknak.

Day 22: Khare (4720m)

Leaving Thaknak, we follow the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka, which offers spectacular views of Charpate Himal. The trail climbs through moraines to the snout of the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers, and then climbs more steeply to Khare. From here, we can view the Northern face of Mera Peak which will be an amazing experience. After lunch you can hike around Khare. Overnight at Khare.

Today the guides will carry out the last minute checking of the gears for the climb, and then arrange if any further equipment becomes necessary to rent.

Day 24: High camp – Mera Peak (5400m)

We take the route through Mera La pass to reach the Mera High Camp today. Our path is along a rocky trail, which can be hazardous if it has recently snowed, as there are a number of crevasses here. We make our way to the top of the rock band, which is marked by a large cairn. We set up a high camp while enjoying excellent views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, south face of Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse. Overnight at Mera High Camp.

Day 25: Summit Mera Peak (6476m) - Khare

The first sun rays of the day hit the big peaks in an amazing red glow. The route is still non-technical as we slowly climb higher towards the summit. The slope becomes steeper for a section behind the ridge and then the summit comes into view. At the foot of the final steep summit cone, we may attach to a fixed rope depending on the conditions. Once at the summit you can enjoy the most stunning views of the vast range of mountains surrounding you before returning to Khare.
