A shorter trek in Bhutan packed with picturesque trekking locations and visits to historic monasteries, museums and landmarks. You will start the trek close to the National Museum in Paro, and end at the Phajoding Monastery near Thimphu. The trip includes visits to the Traditional Medicine Institute, as well as the Takin Preserve Centre, the national animal of Bhutan. The accommodation is a mix of camping and hotel stays.

Day 01: Home country – Delhi/Kathmandu

Day 02: Delhi/Kathmandu – Paro (2280m)

You will be met at the airport by your guide and driven to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: Paro excursion to Taktsang Monastery

After a short drive to Satsam Chorten you will trek to the Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, The trail climbing through beautiful pine forest. The monastery clings to the edge of a 900m sheer rock cliff, which you will see after light refreshments. Travel back to Paro to visit the ancient watchtower Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan, followed by the Rimpung Paro Dzong. Dinner and overnight hotel stay.

Day 04: Start of trek, Paro – Jele Dzong (3560m)

Short trek from the National Museum to the camp near the Jele Dzong, where if the weather is clear you can see stunning views of the Paro valley and snow-capped mountains. Camp.

Day 05: Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha (3770m)

Start with a short climb then trek through a thick alpine forest of rhododendron, gradually climbing until you reach the camp.

Day 06: Jangchulakha - Jimilangtso (3870m)

The trail follows a ridge with beautiful views of the mountains and valleys on clear days. The camp is located close to Lake Jimilangtso, well known for giant sized trout.

Day 07: Jimilangtso - Simkota (4110m)

Follow the trail through dwarf rhododendron trees past the lake of Janetso. Overnight camp.

Day 08: Simkota - Phajoding - Thimphu

Slowly descend down to Phajoding Monastery, where you can see Thimphu at the valley floor. After lunch you'll drive to the Traditional Medicine Institute, followed by the Takin (national animal of Bhutan) Preserve Centre, Sangay Gang View Point and finally the Largest Statue of Buddha. Overnight hotel stay.

Day 09: Thimphu - Paro Airport

Early morning drive to Paro Airport for your farewell.

Day 10: Fly to home country
