Additional Information

Having arrived in Kathmandu there is time to relax, sight see and or shop. There is much to see and do in the fascinating city of Kathmandu. Then a short flight takes you to the village of Lukla over breath taking views of the mountains of Nepal. The trek then takes a couple of days to reach Namche Bazaar the busy market village where the Sherpas of Nepal come from and time is spent here acclimatising.

The trek moves on to reach Gokyo where there are a series of beautiful holy lakes. The tranquillity of the place is wonderful and the views particularly at sunset are quite superb. To see the fifth lake at Henjo/Renjo La (5417m) is a demanding walk, however, the scenery when you get there makes it very well worth the effort. There is an optional walk up to Gokyo Ri (5483m) which is well worth it for the breath taking scenery. From here four of the fourteen 8000 metre mountains in the world can be seen - Everest, Lhotse Cho Oyu and Makalu.
