Additional Information

This is a wonderful trip taking you into the Everest region of Nepal. After arriving in Kathmandu you'll have time to acclimatise, purchase any equipment you need and sightsee before taking a short flight to Lukla, deep in the mountains. From here, the trek takes you through Namche Bazaar, the heart of the Sherpa community and then slowly onto Gokyo. Along the way you will visit villages, mountain monasteries and experience the wonderful culture of the Nepalese people. The route allows plenty of time for acclimatisation.

On reaching Gokyo Lakes there are a series of these holy lakes to enjoy and by now you will be at an altitude of around 5000 metres. The lakes are holy, untouched and very beautiful.

Continuing on to the peak you should now be well acclimatise and ready to go over 6000 metres to reach it's summit. The peak involves some climbing with crampons and ice axe and areas where the group is roped. Previous experience is preferable and a good level of fitness is essential. There will be a team of experienced high altitude Sherpas on hand to assist and guide everyone during the climb if required and a team of porters and low altitude Sherpas to organise equipment, tents and food.

This is a wonderful adventure and in one of the most stunning mountaineering areas of the world.
