This trip is a lovely mix of trekking and culture. You will visit the famous Annapurna region taking a few days to trek an easy route that is suitable for all.
The Himalayas are stunning and this trip allows you a taste of the mountains as well time to interact with the local people and their culture.

Day 1: Depart UK

Day 2: Arrive Kathmandu

You will be met at the airport then drive for about 30 minutes to your hotel in Boudhanath, Kathmandu. The rest of the day can then be spent relaxing and seeing the sights of Kathmandu. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 3: Kathmandu

Rest, sight seeing visits, check equipment. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 4 & 5: Drive to Lumbini

The drive to Lumbini is about half a day, this is a chance to see rural Nepal. Lumbini is a World Heritage Site and the birth place of Buddha. There are a considerable number of temples as well as museums and monuments to see here. This is a Buddhist pilgrimage site that many people from around the world travel to for the spiritual experience of being in this holy place. Here you can study Buddhism, meditation and visit Buddha's birthplace within the sacred Mayadevi Gardens.

There are beautiful monasteries here to see, built by different Buddhist countries like China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Germany where you can observe the different architecture and prayer areas. If you wish you can practice yoga and meditation at the Panditarama Vipassana Center and interact with the monks who live in the vicinity of the monasteries and devote their time to balancing the environment with religious worship.

The Lumbini Garden covers an area of 2.56 sq km or 1 x 3 sq miles and encompasses three zones each covering one square mile connected with walkways and a canal. The area has a sub tropical monsoon climate with warm wet season. (Hotel/lodge accommodation)

Day 6: Drive to Pokhara

Travel to Pokhara, taking in the scenery of rural Nepal with a lunch break along the way. Once in Pokhara you can settle in to your lodge, which is quite central to Pokhara, and spend the afternoon and evening beside the lake enjoying the relaxed and very different atmosphere of Pokhara compared to Kathmandu.

Day 7: Pokhara | Dhampus (1600m)

There's a half day scenic drive from Pokhara to the starting point of the trek. The trekking day is a short day and starts by ascending through forest and then later paddy fields reaching the village of Dhampus - a Gurung (caste) village - for the night. Overnight in lodge.

Day 8: Dhampus | Landrung

The route goes along a ridge to Deurali before descending through forest and into some small villages before reaching Landrung village for the night. Overnight in lodge.

Day 9: Landruk | Ghandruk

The day starts with the trail descending to the river then again trekking past small villages before ascending for a couple of hours. There are stunning views of the Himalayas before reaching the Gurung (caste) village of Ghandruk. From here the famous mountain giants Machhapuchhre and Annapurna are visible. Overnight in lodge.

Day 10: Ghandruk | Nayapul I Pokhara

Today is a short day trekking to down through the forests and villages to Nayapul. From here you reach the road where the group will travel for about an hour into Pokhara for the night. Overnight in lodge

Day 11: Pokhara

In the morning you may like to take a boat across the lake to visit the Japanese temple, or visit the Gorkha museum, the mountaineering museum or simply relax with a coffee in a lakeside cafe. Overnight in lodge

Day 12: Pokhara to Bandipur

Bandipur is a lovely Newari cultural village; the houses are built in the Newari culture and date back to the 18th century. Here are local traders and farmers and the lack of motor vehicles preserves its traditional culture. Suggestions while you are here include the monastery, a silk worm farm, a short walk to enjoy the views, the temples and the local cafes. (Hotel/lodge accommodation)

Day 13: Bantipur

Day 14: Bantipur to Kathmandu

Travel to Kathmandu with a lunch stop along the way, then settle in to your hotel before going out for an evening meal.
