Additional Information

This trekking peak is in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is not to be underestimated at over 6000 metres as it is a challenging peak to climb and requires a good level of fitness.
After arriving in Kathmandu you'll have time to see the sights in this fascinating city and prepare for the trek with last minute shopping for equipment.

This is followed by a half day drive to Bhulbule where the trek begins. This trek is in one of the most beautiful areas of the Nepal Himalayas and along the way you'll see the magnificent Annapurna mountain range, which includes Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and Machhapuchare.

The trek is in the same area as the Annapurna Circuit trek until it reaches Thorong Peak Base Camp at 5200 metres. From here, you move on to climb Thorong Peak, which stands at around 6,100 metres.

The climb involves strenuous walking, and does not require great technical climbing skills although you will need to be familiar with using crampons and ice axe. The group will be accompanied by skilled Climbing Sherpa guides, familiar with the mountain and experienced in supporting groups with this kind of challenge. A good level of fitness and stamina is necessary for this trip. The views from the summit will be stunning and for those who have never experienced the Himalayas this is one of the most beautiful areas to experience. It certainly makes the physical effort to reach the summit more than worthwhile. The route then continues down to Jomsom from where you will fly to Pokhara, then drive to Kathmandu. For those who are not keen to travel by road, it is possible to arrange for a flight, although this will incur an extra charge.
