Jumolhari Round Trek - This fantastic trip to Bhutan will provide opportunities to visit local landmarks and experience beautiful landscapes. Your trek will begin from the historic Drukgyel Dzong and end in Dodena, near the capital of Bhutan Thimphu. Before and after your trek, you will have time to sightsee in Paro and Thimphu witnessing the local culture. The accommodation is a mix of camping and hotel stays.

Day 1: Home country – Delhi/Kathmandu
Day 2: Delhi/Kathmandu – Paro (2280m)
You will be met at the airport by your guide and driven to the hotel. After lunch you'll drive to the ruins of Drukygel Dzong, where on a clear day you have an unforgettable view of Mt. Jhomolhari (7314m). This is followed by a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred monasteries. Dinner and overnight hotel stay.
Day 3: Paro Sightseeing - Taktsang Monastery
After breakfast you'll hike to the Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, followed by a visit to Rimpung Paro Dzong. Afterwards you will head to the ancient watchtower known as Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan. Dinner and overnight hotel stay.
Day 4: Start of trek, Paro – Shana (2820m)
Beginning back at Drukygel Dzong you'll start the trek following the Paro river, passing cultivated fields and picturesque villages. Forests are alive with numerous birds and brightly coloured butterflies. Camp at Shana.
Day 5: Shana – Thangthangka (3610m)
The trail follows a river through a heavily forested area, eventually narrowing as you walk along the drainage. You'll pass a junction en-route, where another path leads north over the Tremo La to Tibet. Camp.
Day 6: Thangthangka – Jangothang (4080m)
Passing a small army post, the trail slowly leaves the forest line and gradually climbs into a beautiful valley which passes Tegethang, a winter home of yak herdsmen. After lunch is served, you'll make your way to the Jhomolhari base camp (4115m) seeing many yak on the way.
Day 7: Rest day at Jangothang
Day hike options are –
Hike to Jumolhari Glacier (4 ½ hours there and back). Hike to Jichu Drake Glacier (3 hours there and back). Walk up the mountain between Jumolhari and Jichu Drake, 5200m. (8 hours there and back).
Day 8: Jangothang – Lingshi (4010m)
Begin again following the stream, eventually climbing up the first ridge to see breathtaking views of Jumolhari (7314m), Jichu Drake (6989m) and Tserim Kang (6532m). Continue walking toward the valley and climb to the Nyeley La pass (4700m). Finish with a gradual descent to the Lingshi camp, enjoying the panoramic view of the peaks and Lingshi Dzong.
Day 9: Lingshi – Shodu (4080m)
Today's trail climbs to Yalila pass (4930m). On a clear day, impressive views of Jumolhari, Tserim Kang and Masagang (7194m) can be seen. Dinner and overnight camp stay.
Day 10: Shodu - Barshong (3710m)
The path takes you along the Thimphu River, descending through rhododendron, juniper and alpine forest. You are presented with stunning views of cliff facing rocks and waterfalls, followed by lunch at the riverside. Afterwards, the trail gradually ascends to the ruins of the Barshong Dzong, reaching the camp. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Barshong - Dolamkencho (3320m)
Follow the road, descending through more alpine forest and back along the Thimphu River. After lunch, you'll climb up to the Dolamkencho camp.
Day 12: Dolamkencho - Dodena - Thimphu
Descend from the camp through bamboo forests, once again joining the Thimphu River. You'll eventually arrive at Dodena, ready for a drive to Thimphu for an overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 13: Thimphu Sightseeing
A chance to explore Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Start the day with visits to the National Memorial Chorten and the Dupthop Lhakhang, one of the few surviving nunneries in the country. After lunch you'll visit many more places of interest, including the Tashichho Dzong and the Handicrafts Emporium. Hotel stay.
Day 14: Thimphu - Punakha - Thimphu
Start the day with a drive from Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula pass, where on clear days you can stop to view sights of the higher Himalayas. In Punakha, you'll visit the Punakha Dzong, situated between the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Return journey to Thimphu in the evening for a final hotel stay.
Day 15: Thimphu - Paro Airport (Departure)
Early morning drive to Paro Airport for your farewell.
